Stone Central (NW) Ltd is one of the North of England's leading stonemasonry companies. We offer a complete restoration, conservation, and masonry service for traditional and contemporary projects. We pride ourselves on the high quality of workmanship and standard of service, combining traditional values and craftsmanship with the latest repair techniques and technologies.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of services including stonemasonry, restoration, cleaning, consultancy, memorials and statues, new build, railways, surveys, and terracotta. Our team are all professional, highly experienced, and specialists in their field. Attention to detail and high levels of craftsmanship are something we are passionate about.

Our contract managers have vast experience of working on historical projects as well as modern architecture and new build. We pride ourselves not only on the quality of our work but also in the communication with our clients at every stage, from survey, planning, and pricing through to completion and aftercare.

Our Projects

We have worked on numerous prestigious projects including the India Buildings in Liverpool, the Unitarian Chapel in Manchester, the Snowdon Summit Cafe and Visitor Centre, the Ribble Head Viaduct, Coronation Street, Bolton School, and Wigan Town Hall, to name a few. Our team are dedicated to delivering high-quality work and providing excellent customer service.

Apprenticeships

At Stone Central, we are keen to maintain our skills heritage by investing our time and energy in apprenticeships. To date, we have supported seven school leavers and two students through this programme, all of which have gone on to secure full-time positions either within our company or have set up on their own, subcontracting to some of the industry's main contractors.

We work closely within our incredible team, providing support, guidance, encouragement, and expertise along the way. Together with York College, we are always eager to help people who are looking to make a career in our industry. In 2021, we were delighted to be approached by Historic England to work in partnership with them to host a mature student apprenticeship. The apprentice has been working onsite with Stone Central, mastering new skills and gaining valuable experience in the stonemasonry industry.
