At Lumison Lighting, we are an independent lighting company based in the historic town of Oakham, Rutland. We provide lighting design solutions and have been commissioned by homeowners, architects, property developers, interior designers, and landscape designers for residential and commercial projects. Our team of experts understands the functional and emotional impact of good lighting and has the experience and creativity to deliver well-considered and beautifully designed lighting schemes.

Our founder and director, James Morrison, established Lumison Lighting after 11 years of experience working within lighting design and manufacture. He came to the lighting business from the construction industry, which gave him significant experience in specifying and installing beautiful lighting designs in both domestic and commercial properties. With his practical expertise and extensive lighting knowledge, James fully understands the needs of our clients.

An eye for detail is needed when it comes to lighting design. We collaborate with clients, architects, and other service providers in order to make the best choices, and then produce technical documents to help guide the builders and electricians. When you are installing lighting and all the wiring that comes with it, you want to do it once and do it properly, as future changes can be complicated and are often costly.

Many of our clients are doing extensive renovations or building their dream home. They want to try and recreate what they have seen online or in magazines but can't visualize the end result. We appreciate that trying to find the right lighting can be a very confusing and daunting prospect. We are really proud to 'Fly the Flag' with a fantastic range of British Made lighting together with an eclectic mix of vintage, nordic, and modern contemporary fittings.

It is also clearly evident that LED technology is quickly replacing the more conventional light sources such as halogen and incandescent. The benefits of LED vs traditional is huge and is certainly the lighting for the future being more energy efficient, clean, and eco-friendly. We have a selection of LED fittings displayed at the showroom so we can fully explain their benefits together with automated lighting control systems.

On display, we have a well-balanced collection showcasing fittings for kitchens, bathrooms, and gardens together with stylish decorative lighting including task, floor, and table lamps. Showroom Consultation

We offer a one-hour consultation at our showroom in order that we can establish your lighting requirements. This initial meeting allows us to discuss your lighting aspirations and the various stages and costs associated with our design service. It is very helpful for us to visualize the space that requires lighting, so we advise all our clients to bring with them any photographs, plans, or drawings. If you are unable to visit our showroom, you can email your plans and photographs to us.
