Our founder, Malcom Hepburn, built a foundation of reliability that formally became Essex Dem Co Coolition Contractors Limited in 1963. We possess over 58 years of continuous trading experience across a diverse range of sites. Our portfolio encompasses power stations, gas works, aerodromes, and Ministry of Defence testing facilities. We also manage the dismantling of high-rise blocks, city centre industrial complexes, and smaller commercial properties. Throughout our history, we have maintained full membership in the Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme, CITB, CSCS, CPSC, and Construction Line.

Services
Soft Strip
We remove and recycle non-structural building elements to facilitate further demolition or refurbishment. Our service covers internal walls, ceilings, fixtures, and temporary structures. We cater to diverse projects, ranging from high-rise accommodation to removing hazardous items from MOD bases.
Top Down Demolition
We dismantle high-rise structures floor by floor, from the top down to the bottom. This method requires scaffolding and specialist machinery brought up to the working level. We maintain strict safety controls to protect our staff throughout this difficult but thorough process.
High Reach Demolition
We utilise state-of-the-art high reach machinery to demolish structures from the ground. This drastically reduces the risk to our operatives working at height. Our extensive attachments include grapples, pulverisers, and hydraulic breakers to safely handle any project.
Facade and Structure Retention
We assist clients from design to installation for complex retention and structural stability systems. Many projects require retaining important facades or unique structural elements to gain planning permission. We collaborate with heritage authorities to ensure correct consideration for historical buildings.
Remediation and Environmental Works
Our experienced technicians identify and resolve potential environmental damage on site. We devise a robust plan of action to rectify damage and ensure safe usage. We only ever leave a site when it is fully ready for safe use once again.
