At Taw and Torridge Tree Services, we have been operating throughout North Devon and the surrounding areas since 2010. With a combination of over 17 years' experience within the industry, we pride ourselves on offering a locally unrivalled, professional, and friendly service. Tree Surgery

Our team of experienced and highly skilled arborists work to exceptional standards, making Taw and Torridge Tree Services one of North Devon's finest. We offer all aspects of tree surgery, from planting new trees to the full removal of large trees and everything in between. Our team of experts is skilled in the safe removal of trees or parts of trees in confined spaces, using various rigging gear to lower sections of the tree while maintaining full control, minimising the risk of damage.

We also undertake tree work on the roadside, utilising our in-house traffic management team. With a good understanding between the traffic management and tree work teams, we ensure a cost-effective and efficient service. Our client base includes residential customers as well as various businesses and organizations, such as A&B Contractors, Tarka Housing, English Heritage, North Devon Biosphere, Ostlers Cider Farm, and more.

At Taw and Torridge Tree Services, we believe that education and qualifications are essential. Our team of arborists has a full range of essential qualifications, including relevant NPTC certificates, Lantra awards, first aid qualifications, and CSCS tickets. We also carry public liability insurance to 5 million, as recommended by the Arboricultural Association. We adhere to a minimum standard of BS3998: Recommendations for tree work.

Traffic Management and Traffic Control

Traffic management is a safety-critical activity that requires the highest of standards. All of our staff are National Highways sector scheme qualified to 12D (LANTRA). We have 25 years of combined experience in this area of work, having worked for the Highways' Department on all major and minor roads in Devon, Somerset, and Cornwall. We have developed a thorough understanding of how to approach each type of road and the method of installation to suit each set of circumstances.

We have also developed expertise in Events Traffic Management and were featured on the BBC's "James May Toy Story" programme, for which we set up the setup. We have all our own signs and equipment, which enables us to offer competitive quotes.

About 12D

12D is a nationally recognized qualification designed to provide delegates with the necessary underpinning technical knowledge and skills to carry out managing traffic during road works and the supervision of work gangs as appropriate. It provides a working knowledge of the national sector schemes, highlighting the importance and relevance of health and safety at work.
