WB Smith Trees & Turf Ltd is a family-run business based in the Renfrewshire area, specialising in tree work and turf services. With over 30 years of experience, the company was originally founded by William Buntain Smith and is now managed by Jack Smith and his son Andrew Smith. Andrew, who has been working for the company for over 12 years, completed his NC in Tree Management in 2003 and possesses the appropriate NPTC Certificates in the use of chainsaws and aerial techniques used within the industry.

The company undertakes all work from small or large domestic jobs to more complicated jobs including contracts for various building/utility companies and local authorities. Tree Services

WB Smith Trees & Turf Ltd offers a variety of tree services including:

• Tree Pruning: Crown lifting, the removal of lower branches to an agreed height, for example, over footpaths or roads.
• Crown Thinning: Reducing crown density without altering the overall size or shape of the tree, allowing light penetration and reducing wind resistance.
• Crown Reduction & Reshaping: Making the crown of the tree smaller without unduly spoiling the shape of the tree.
• Crown Clean/Deadwood: The removal of dead, dying or dangerous branches within the crown.
• Tree Felling: The felling of trees in enclosed areas, quickly and efficiently, no matter how difficult the situation.
• Section Felling: Sectionally dismantling trees in confined and small spaces using appropriate machinery and equipment.
• Site Clearance: The removal of trees/shrubs on sites for the process of new developments.
• Stump Removal: The removal of any kind, size or age stumps in almost any location, leaving only easily managed chippings.
• Brushwood Chipping: Disposing of debris and providing a ground cover product.
• Tree Preservation Orders (T.P.O.) and Conservation Areas: Acting as an authorized agent for clients in dealing with applications for work to trees covered by T.P.O. and within Conversation Areas, meeting with officials of the Local Authorities to discuss the specifications.
• Hedge Trimming: Professional trimming of all types of hedge and shrubs.
• Planting: Small-scale planting to BS3936.

Turf & Soil Services

WB Smith Trees & Turf Ltd can supply the following:

• Lawn Turf: Use for front lawns and well-presented gardens.
• Economy Turf: Hardwearing turf for rear gardens and well-used areas.
• Budget Turf: The cheapest turf available, often used for bankings and unused areas.
• Top Soil: Screened top soil supplied loosely per tonne.
• Composted Woodchip: Supplied loosely per cubic metre.
• Logs: Hardwood logs split and ready to burn.

Delivery/Collection/Fitting: All of the above can be delivered or collected from our premises. We also have a fitting service available for the turf.
