Harry Brook & Son

Harry Brook & Son Ltd is a family-run business that has been delivering a wide range of plastering services for over 75 years. Established in 1946, shortly after Harry Brook finished serving in the Second World War, the company quickly flourished, and Harry soon employed a small workforce to help him with his work. Today, the company is managed by a third generation of the Brook family, Iain, who has a dedicated team of employees and contractors undertaking plastering work for housing developments, local authority contracts, and building firms throughout Yorkshire and further afield.

Our History

The company's story began when Harry Brook started out as a small, one-man operation, carrying out plastering and roofing jobs using a hand cart as a means of transport. As the business grew, Harry employed a small workforce to help him, and began contracting to various local builders, as well as working for his established regular customers. In 1955, Harry's son, Victor, became involved with the business, and in 1961, it was incorporated as a limited company. The business continued to expand, and by the mid-1960s, employed up to seventy operatives, undertaking large-scale contracts throughout the north of England.

At Harry Brook & Son Ltd, we offer a full range of plastering services, including:

• Traditional Two Coat Wet Plaster: a durable finish applied to block, brick, and masonry backgrounds to reduce sound transmission.
• Plasterboarding: plasterboarding to timber stud partitions using a collated screwgun.
• Drylining / Dot & Dab: drylining and dot & dab to all block, brick, and masonry backgrounds.
• Skimming: application of plaster skim to ceilings and walls using up-to-date methods.
• Rendering: through-coloured renders applied in various colours to provide a decorative finish.
• One Coat Coloured Render: an attractive and maintenance-free finish.

We are also approved Weber Render applicators and offer a range of other services, including suspended ceilings, metal stud partitions, and pebbledashing.
