Welcome to Evergreen Garden Design & Build, a fully qualified garden design and build service based in Sevenoaks, Kent, operating in the Southern counties and South London. Our team, led by Director Alex Lindsay, is dedicated to providing a friendly and professional service at competitive prices.
Our Story
Alex Lindsay, Director of Evergreen Garden Design and Build, studied at Winchester School of Art (Southampton University) and Merrist Wood, Guildford. His BA in Art History has given him an informed knowledge of Modern Art and Architecture that is evident in his design work. Alex gained experience from building gardens with Prima Flora, a Surrey based landscaping company. This training was complemented by his studies on the Garden Design diploma course taught by well-known garden designer Andrew Wilson at Merrist Wood, for which he received a high distinction. After initially working for Andrew Wilson's design practice, he set up his own company building his own designs.
Our Services
At Evergreen Garden Design & Build, we specialize in design, planting schemes, and all styles of paving, decking, stone, and brickwork. We offer a wide range of services, including:
- Planting Projects: We create schemes that suit your soil type, garden orientation, or site condition, tailoring to your likes and dislikes, budget, and long-term maintenance plan.
- Garden Design: We offer our clients the benefit of both designing and building gardens, which provides our clients the assurance that a high standard is maintained from the design process through to the build completion and planting.
- Walling and Stone Work: We offer a range of styles that work with the architecture of the house and help give better access to the garden or improved social space.
- Decking & Timber Work: We are experienced in designing and building bespoke timber features which can often maximize space in gardens and relate closely to family needs.
- Paving: We understand the importance of the right paving choice, considering factors such as function, site conditions, and budget.
- Show & Public Gardens: We have experience in designing and building show gardens, including our award-winning garden at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in 2014.
Teaching and Courses
In addition to our design and build services, Alex has been teaching garden design courses for over 12 years, ranging from short introductory courses to two-year Diploma courses. We offer courses in garden design, covering a wide range of subjects such as planting design, landscaping material choices, technical drawing skills, construction, starting your own business, assignments using real-life projects, garden design history, and design theory.
