Terry, the founder of Terry the Handyman, has always been a practical person with a passion for DIY. With a background in the oil industry, Terry had spent most of his career working as a plant and pipeline inspector, working in various locations around the world. However, when the oil prices plummeted in 2015, Terry saw an opportunity to turn his lifelong hobby of DIY into a full-time job.

Our Story

Terry's interest in DIY began when he was a young boy. He would often help his parents with small renovation projects around the house. As he grew older, his enthusiasm for DIY only grew stronger. After leaving school, Terry went on to study engineering and later worked as a plant and pipeline inspector in the oil industry. Although his career in the oil industry was fulfilling, Terry always found himself returning to his passion for DIY.

From Oil Industry to Handymen

When the oil prices dropped, Terry saw a change in his fortunes. His redundancy from the oil industry provided the perfect opportunity for him to pursue his lifelong passion for DIY. Terry decided to turn his DIY hobby into a full-time job, becoming a handyman in Garstang and surrounding areas.
