The business started as a traditional hardware store, where Phil became interested in locks and went on various training courses in the early years of his career. As the DIY superstores changed the retail landscape, Phil transformed the hardware store into a security store. However, with the increasing rent demands, Phil decided to become a mobile locksmith, allowing him to cover a much wider area, including Hertfordshire, Middlesex, and London for both domestic and commercial clients. This move enabled him to provide a more personalized and reliable service to his customers.
