Transforming Spaces, Enhancing Lives
Camris Architects Ltd, based in Kilmacolm, offers a comprehensive range of architectural services tailored to both domestic and commercial clients in the local Inverclyde and Renfrewshire area, as well as greater Glasgow and across Scotland. Our expertise extends from initial consultation and feasibility, through planning permission and building warrant applications, to finding a contractor, overseeing works on site, and final completion. Additionally, we have extensive experience in conservation and restoration, making us well-equipped to handle projects involving historic settings and period or listed buildings.
Our founding director and principle architect, Janet Harris, boasts over a decade in architectural practice. Prior to establishing Camris Architects in 2012, she gained valuable experience working for private architectural practices, both large and small. Janet has worked closely with individuals on highly personal projects, such as their own homes, guiding them through the often daunting process. She has also accumulated years of experience on commercial developments across various sectors and scales, from small standalone retail units to multi-million pound offices.
Janet's work in conservation and restoration has been award-winning, notably the conversion of the former Grade A listed Herald newspaper offices/printworks in Glasgow, which received praise from Historic Scotland and was awarded Bronze in the national Roses Design Awards for Best Reuse of a Listed Building.
By law, anyone describing themselves as an architect and involved in designing or constructing buildings must be properly trained and qualified, and registered with the Architects Registration Board (ARB). Working with Camris Architects not only provides the reassurance of engaging an experienced professional but also offers the peace of mind that we are registered with the ARB and carry Professional Indemnity Insurance. Janet is also a member of both The Royal Incorporation of Architects In Scotland (The RIAS) and The Royal Institute of British Architects (The RIBA).
