Peter Daw Surfacing Contractors are a family run business established in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria in the 1960s. Today, the company is run by two generations of the Daw family. Our work is carried out in the North West of England, specifically in the Furness Peninsular, South Cumbria, and North Lancashire. We cater for all surfacing requirements, including driveways, forecourts, paths, car parks, and private roads in the Residential, Industrial, Commercial, and Agricultural sectors. We pride ourselves on an extremely high standard of workmanship, ensuring customer satisfaction with every job.

Tarmac Surfacing

We specialise in tarmacadam surfacing for various applications. Whether it's a domestic driveway or the complete construction of a car park or a new road, we take great pride in what we do. We can cater for a large range of situations and use the highest quality materials, including heavy duty tarmac for haulage yards and farm roads, porous materials for sports areas, fine graded materials for domestic driveways, and non-porous materials for silage pits on farms. Our company-owned machines ensure we can cope with most situations using a mixture of the latest technology and traditional techniques.

Surface Dressing

We also offer surface dressing, also known as Tar and Chipping. This involves spraying hot bitumen followed by a layer of chippings, available in coloured granite and shingled aggregates. We can offer a variety of stone chippings and colours, including Ghyll Scar Granite, Ingleton Green, and Pink Granite. Surface dressing is very cost-effective, seals the surface, and protects it from damage. It maintains the existing surface from disintegration, making it an attractive option for private roads and car parks.
