Services
We create detailed garden designs that allow your outdoor space to be constructed accurately from the ground up. Starting from 2,500, our full design service is priced according to scale and complexity. The package includes a full site survey, concept designs, outline and 3D plans, technical documentation, construction drawings, and a comprehensive planting layout. 
We manage the full planting design process, from selecting suitable plants to coordinating delivery and final layout. This ensures the garden develops in line with the original vision. Planting design services start from 500, subject to scale and complexity. Planting assistance and contractor coordination are offered at 30 per hour. 
We offer a dedicated garden consultation designed to help you make informed decisions about your outdoor space. The visit allows us to assess the garden together while discussing your preferences, requirements, and budget. Professional advice is provided on design, planting, and long-term improvement. After the consultation, a detailed written report is supplied. Fees start at 150 for a two-hour appointment, including the report.

I am the principal designer and owner of Gerbera Designs, which specializes in garden design. I obtained my qualification as a garden designer in 2009, achieving an HNC in Garden Design with distinction from the Scottish Agricultural College in Aberdeen.
I also complemented my studies by attending Aberdeen College, where I earned the RHS 2 Certificate in Horticulture in 2007. Additionally, I regularly contribute as a garden design columnist for Scotland Grows.

Joanne has designed an interesting colourful garden for my bland grass only new build. Within days there are signs of wildlife that had not visited the garden before. The specification Joanne provided was very detailed and she helped with the landscaper where he had questions. She also provided information on aftercare for the plants. Very satisfied with the design process and cant wait to see the plants grow.

We spoke to a couple of designers before deciding to go with Joanne for the garden of our new-build house and we were very happy we did. Joanne talked to us about what we wanted from the garden and came up with a design that met our needs and, as we were complete novice gardeners, she Took the time to explain each and every plant and what they would look like throughout the year. She also helped in organising the supply of plants and the setting out and planting - all at a reasonable cost.
