Roderic Baillie-Grohman Stonemason is a business founded by Roderic Baillie-Grohman, an experienced stonemason who has been working in the South West for over 25 years. Based near Langport, Somerset, the business specialises in the restoration and conservation of Church and Vernacular stonework, as well as the supply and fixing of new stonework and memorials. With a strong focus on local materials, particularly Hamstone, Bathstones, Doulting, Chilmark, and Portland, Roderic's work is highly regarded for its attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Our Services
The business offers a range of services including restoration of badly decayed or unsound stonework, conservation of stones to repair cracks or breaks, and the creation of new stonework for extensions, fireplaces, or windows. Experience and Qualifications
Roderic holds a BSc in Biological Sciences and studied stonemasonry at the South Dorset Technical College, where he won the City and Guilds Bronze Medal. He has worked on notable projects such as the West Front restoration of Wells Cathedral and the spire restoration project at Salisbury Cathedral. With a wealth of experience and a passion for his craft, Roderic is dedicated to preserving the beauty and integrity of historical buildings.
