Our Story

G Clarke Landscaping Ltd is a well-established firm driven by a passion for transforming outdoor spaces into beautiful and functional havens. Our journey began in 1996, founded by Gareth Clarke, whose deep-rooted commitment to the horticultural industry was cultivated through studies at the Lancashire College of Agriculture & Horticulture and hands-on experience as a groundsman at Cardiff Arms Park. This experience, coupled with his time in the wholesale nursery trade and his role as a lecturer teaching Amenity Horticulture and Countryside Skills, laid the foundation for the company's future success.

In 1997, Richard Marks embarked on his career with GCL as a trainee, having excelled in his college studies. His dedication and hard work have seen him rise through the ranks to become Works Manager and shareholder, playing a pivotal role in project delivery.

Over the years, GCL has flourished, consistently expanding its team to encompass ten full-time staff alongside a network of seasonal employees. We actively collaborate with other local companies and suppliers, fostering strong partnerships within the community.

Our testament to quality has been unwavering. From the beginning, meticulous attention to detail and a relentless pursuit of delivering exceptional finished products have been the cornerstones of our success. To ensure this standard is upheld in every project, even those requiring specialist sub-contractors, we maintain direct supervision by our GCL Project Managers.

We proudly hold Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture, demonstrating our professionalism and adherence to best practices. Furthermore, we are certified members of both the SafeContractor and CHAS schemes, ensuring the highest standards of safety and accountability on all our project sites.

We are committed to continuous improvement and actively work towards all our staff possessing the relevant CSCS and CPCS cards.
