At Kit Peel Gardens, we are a design-led practice that has been creating beautiful and unique outdoor spaces for over five years. Our team of experts has a deep understanding of the relationship between form, function, and nature, and we take pride in our ability to marry formal layout with romantic planting. Based in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, we have had the privilege of working on a wide range of projects, from urban and rural gardens to country estates and large estates across the UK and abroad.

First Visit

Our first visit is all about getting to know you, understanding your hopes and dreams for your garden, and understanding what can be achieved within your budget. At this stage, we don't provide sketches or planting advice, but we do take careful note of your existing garden and any challenges or opportunities it presents.

Survey

Our survey involves a precise measurement of your existing garden, taking into account all the key features, including services, soil condition, and PH levels. We also consider any restrictions, such as tree preservation orders, and ensure that our survey provides a comprehensive understanding of your garden's potential.

Master Plan

Our master plan is a detailed, accurate, and precise plan of your proposed garden. This is the plan that will be used by contractors to ensure that your build is carried out to the highest standard, and it includes all the necessary elevations and construction details.

Visuals and Animation

To help you visualize your new garden, we create highly detailed computer-generated imagery, showing the proposed new space and views from your property, both by day and at night. We also create an animated film of your proposed garden, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in your new outdoor space.

Planting Plan

Our planting plan is a detailed, accurate, and precise plan that shows the exact location of plants and plant numbers. We understand that planting can be a very personal aspect for clients, so we can create a shared online planting moodboard, allowing you to suggest your favourite plants during the early planting plan stages.

Construction Detailing and Tendering

Once you've signed off on the design, we create detailed drawings of how to construct your new garden and prepare all the necessary documentation for tender. We then oversee the selection of trusted contractors, reviewing tenders and advising on which tender to accept.

Overseeing the Build

We visit the site during the creation of your garden, checking that the work is being carried out to the highest standard, troubleshooting if necessary, and liaising with all parties.

Aftercare

Gardens often take a few years to establish and it's vital they are tended correctly during this time. We provide full maintenance schedules for your garden and set up an online calendar to remind you of what garden jobs need doing throughout the year.

Kit Peel, our founder and lead designer, who has a passion for creating beautiful and unique outdoor spaces. He holds a FDA in garden design and has a wealth of experience in garden design and maintenance.

Megan Peel, our planting expert, who leads on planting design and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of plants and the history of planting design. She is a published author and a self-confessed garden romantic.

Tom Chapman-Andrews, our architecturally-trained senior designer, who has worked on a wide range of projects, from commercial office spaces to luxury residential developments. He has a collaborative approach to design and building and loves to work with highly skilled artisans.

Steve Booker, our project manager and interior architect, who has a broad range of experience in design and construction. He coordinates the design process from start to finish, ensuring that every project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
