Archibald McCorquodale & Son Ltd, established in 1911, is a family-run business based in Glasgow, specialising in roofing and building work. From our office in Thorniebank, we are ideally placed to serve residential, public sector, and commercial clients within West Central Scotland and beyond. We specialise in Traditional Roofing, Leadwork, Metal Cladding, Refurbishment and Dilapidation Works, Common Fabric Repair Schemes, Alteration Works, and General Repairs. Our high standard of workmanship has been recognised with our nomination as a finalist in the NFRC Scottish Roofing Contractor of the Year awards on a number of occasions, as well as a nomination as a finalist in the National Roofing Awards in 2014.

Our team of experienced professionals, including Chartered Building Surveyors, time-served roof slaters and tilers, and joiners, allow us to deploy a wide range of expertise and experience in ensuring proper supervision of all works. We directly employ a team of experienced tradesmen comprising roof slaters and tilers, leadworkers, plumbers, joiners, plasterers, sheet cladders, and general operatives.

We are proud members of the Scottish Building Federation, Scottish Master Slater's and Roof Tilers Association, and the National Federation of Roofing Contractors. Additionally, we are Constructionline registered and Safe Contractor approved, and have recently achieved CHAS accreditation.

Our Services

  • Traditional Roofing: We undertake all aspects of traditional pitched roofing work, including minor jobbing maintenance work, full strip and re-slate of large roofs, and all associated leadwork detailing, wallhead gutters, flashings, flat roofs, rainwater goods, and roofline products.

  • Metal Cladding: We offer a full range of metal cladding services to both domestic and industrial clients.
  • Refurbishments and Dilapidations: We undertake commercial refurbishment and dilapidation works on behalf of our clients.
  • Common Fabric Repair Schemes: We are experienced in the delivery of successful common fabric repair schemes.
  • Alteration Works: We undertake a wide range of alteration/improvement work across all property types.
  • General Repair Works: We provide a range of minor maintenance works services to a wide variety of properties.
