Creating beautiful and inspiring gardens that will be a joy forever.
At Redbook Garden Design, we are a talented and innovative design company based in Beaconsfield, covering the Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, and Oxfordshire areas. Our team prides itself on being friendly and professional in our delivery of bespoke garden designs, planting plans, and consultancy services for individuals, architects, and property developers. As a professional garden designer, my aim is to provide beautiful and inspiring gardens that will be a joy forever.
Our Services
Our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. Whether you're looking to create a small courtyard garden or a large country estate, we will work closely with you to understand your requirements and vision. Our comprehensive process involves several stages, including an initial site meeting, a garden design survey, a garden design plan, a planting plan, and project management throughout the build.
Our Process
We understand that every project is unique, which is why we have developed a well-defined process that guides you through the project from start to finish. In many cases, not all of the services listed below may be necessary, and we will work with you to determine the best course of action for your specific needs.
The initial site meeting is the first stage of our process. We will come to see you and discuss your requirements in a relaxed and informal setting. We'll establish a detailed brief for the garden, which will take up to an hour. There is no charge for this meeting, unless we have to travel a significant distance.
Once the brief is established, we will send you a letter confirming the garden design brief, as well as estimates for the survey and the design. When you're ready to proceed, we'll ask for a 50% deposit, with the remainder due on presentation of the final design.
Garden Design Survey
For most gardens, we will need to conduct a professional garden survey. This involves photographing the garden and accurately surveying the positions and outlines of buildings, trees, and shrubs, terraces, and paths. You will receive an electronic copy of the garden design survey if required.
Garden Design Plan
The garden design plan is a scale drawing that is computer-generated, allowing for changes as we fine-tune the design. The plan is labelled, showing areas of planting, paving, lawns, pergolas, and more. Accompanying mood boards will have photographs of the suggested products and materials to give you a feel for how the finished garden will look.
Planting Plan
The planting plan is where the garden really comes to life. This plan shows you the botanical names of the plants, where they will be located, and the quantity required. Only plants that are suitable for the conditions and location will be used. Accompanying mood boards will show photographs of the plants, allowing you to fully visualise the final result.
Quotations and Specifications
Specifications can be prepared and sent with the plans to known and reliable contractors or given to your builders.
Project Management
Throughout the build, we will be available to make site visits to monitor the construction and answer any questions you may have. We understand the importance of clear communication and effective project management to ensure that your garden design is brought to life exactly as intended.
Courses and Talks
Why not book a day and let me share my love and enthusiasm for plants and gardens? Our courses and masterclasses are suitable for gardeners, budding and professional garden designers, and anyone who wants their garden to look gorgeous. I have years of experience in presenting and training, and I now offer various masterclasses on plants and garden design at venues in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. I also give specific garden and plant-related talks to societies and special interest groups.
