Lock Snapping and Anti Snap Locks

Lock snapping has seen a significant increase since 2009, with West Yorkshire Police experiencing a sharp rise in break-ins where the burglars had snapped the euro profile cylinder lock on uPVC doors and then opened the multipoint locking system, allowing them to gain entry into the property. Lock snapping is spreading in South Wales and can be broken in just "13 Seconds" using nothing more than two easily obtainable DIY tools.

This is due to a design flaw and the soft metal from which the lock is made. To combat this, we offer anti-snap locks that prevent this exploit and make lock snapping almost impossible for the untrained professional and opportunist crook.
