Welcome to Durie Heritage, a family-run business of independent building surveyors and timber and damp specialists. We specialise in providing comprehensive and thorough property reports for our clients, ensuring that they have a thorough understanding of their home.

Our business is built on a foundation of expertise and experience, with both Alison and I holding first-class honours degrees in building surveying and Masters degrees in related fields. We take pride in our ability to access all areas of a property, including those that are often overlooked by other surveyors. This allows us to provide a detailed and full inspection, giving our clients a true understanding of their property's condition.

We understand that every property is unique, with its own set of challenges and characteristics. That's why we take a holistic approach to our surveys, considering the entire property and its surroundings. Our reports are comprehensive and easy to understand, providing our clients with the information they need to make informed decisions about their property.

Our services include building surveys, timber and damp surveys, and defect surveys (building pathology). We also provide guidance on types of dampness, rising damp, penetrating damp, and damp proofing fraud. We are committed to providing our clients with honest and unbiased advice, free from affiliations with tradesmen or contractors.

Our Approach

We are not your typical building surveyors. We don't wear suits and ties, and we don't recommend quick fixes or costly repairs. Instead, we take a thorough and methodical approach to our surveys, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service.

We believe that the only way to truly understand a property is to get up close and personal. That's why we wear cargo pants, polo shirts, and stout boots, allowing us to access all areas of a property, including those that are often difficult or dirty. We carry drain lifting keys to inspect manholes, and we're not afraid to get our hands dirty.

Our Geography

We are based in Leominster, Herefordshire, in the West Midlands, but we operate throughout Wales, the central belt, from Lancashire to north Somerset, and Herefordshire to Hertfordshire and points in between. We also have a strong presence in Scotland, where we began our business, and remain busy throughout, from Banff and Buchan to the Borders and from Campbeltown to Crail.
